WELCOME TO THE 2007-08 SCHOOL YEAR!
The new school year is upon us, and Junior Achievement has a goal of inspiring 90,000 students in Denver, Northern Colorado, and Wyoming.
- Teachers: If you would like to request JA in your classroom, please contact us at 303-534-5252 or visit www.jacolorado.org.
- Volunteers: If you are interested in volunteering in an area classroom, please call 303-534-5252 or visit our website to fill out an interest form.
THE DIFFERENCE YOU'LL MAKE IS STRIKING!
The JA BOO-A-Thon is just down the lane. This October, more than 750 individuals from metro Denver and Northern Colorado will have a blast and raise money for JA. These funds will help us provide programs to 90,000 students this school year. This is a great opportunity to have fun with co-workers and friends, while raising money to help Colorado students prepare for success.
If you would like to get involved, contact Sarah Hunsicker at 303-628-7375 or shunsicker@jacolorado.org. You can also visit our website for more information.
WALL STREET COMES TO THE WEST AND YOUR INVITED!
On November 8th, Junior Achievement's fast-paced, high-energy JA Stock Market Challenge, presented by The Allstate Foundation, will take place at the DU Cable Center.
In the morning, 250 high school students will compete in this simulated stock market game, after participating in "JA Take Stock in Your Future," a two-part classroom program that is taught by business volunteers and teaches students stock market fundamentals.
In addition to the student event, 40 corporate teams will test their skills and luck by playing the game in the evening. If you are interested in participating, contact Shawna Robbins at 303-260-2686 or srobbins@jacolorado.org
GOLF ANYONE?

WINNER ANNOUNCED
Last April, we announced a Volunteer Challenge, designed to recruit additional volunteers for our programs. As an incentive for current volunteers to either teach an additional class or recruit a new JA volunteer, each Volunteer Challenge participant was entered into a drawing to win two round-trip tickets from Northwest Airlines. We are excited to announce that we received 56 responses resulting in 12 additional classes being taught in May!
The grand prize winner is...Sheri Hunter, an employee of Qwest Communications, who taught a May class ar Greenlee Elementary School. Congratulations to Sheri and thank you to all of our volunteers!
DO YOU STILL HAVE KIT MATERIALS FROM LAST YEAR?
If so, please contact Megan Silbert at 303-628-7372 or msilbert@jacolorado.org to schedule a time for the materials to be picked up.
